Playstation Eggs

To highlight the launch of the New Playstation 3 Slim and to seed the new brand idea (the game is just the start) we placed giant eggs in key locations around
Dublin city and county. The only clue left was the Playstation slogan printed on a mallet. For several days the eggs remained intact but as soon as the word spread that one had been broken and a Playstation was inside all ten were quickly claimed. The campaign got loads of awards and a huge mount of egg related puns too.

2FM Market

RTÉ 2fm Market by keithlawler

I was responsible for the concept of this ad and came up with the mechanic that the 2FM Djs have the voice of the people. I felt that a market would be the perfect setting for this concept as we could have an eclectic range of people representing the different Djs and different stalls representing their shows.

Love Muck for Reachout.com

We decided to invent some ridiculous products that declare to be the solution to life’s problems, when of course they are not, but ReachOut.com can help. To do this we made two web movies with digitially activated posters hung in colleges around Ireland. I wrote the scripts and Art Directed the shoots. No branding is present on the posters until the QR code is scanned. Once  you scan the below message appears and plays the video. This probably disappointed a lot of loser college students who thought putting muck on their face would get them the ride, it won’t, well it might. The entire campaign was done pro-bono.

Gillette Proglide

To Launch the new Gillette Proglide razor in the Middle East we decided to give Arab men something they could only dream of, an incredibly cool concept car. I commissioned Matus Prochaczka, one of the worlds most famed car designers, to help design the vehicle. It mimics all the features of the razor, high performance, effortless glide and precision power. The unveiling of the car is supported by an digital design game that gives the user the ability to create their dream car.

Visit Ireland

This is a poster that I submitted to the Irish Times poster exhibition for design/advertising agencies on St Patricks day to promote Ireland oversees. For my muse, I decided to go with the mystical and rarely seen Irish species of the Ginger! The poster was extremely well recieved. In a sea of leprechauns and liquor, people loved the fact that as much as I was making fun of red-haired people, I was making them appear beautiful, special and mystical, which of course they are.

Your Country, Your Call

Your Country Your Call was a presidentially led competition to get Ireland back on it’s feet. I was the sole Art Director on the entire campaign. The website had
over 150,000 visitors from 175 countries offering over 9,000 proposals. It had enormous media presence and nationwide visibility.

Heineken Bite Club

Taking my cue from the socialist look and feel that comes from the iconic Heineken Star, I created an event that made Heineken a legitimate alcoholic choice to have with a meal instead of wine. We made it about the food and gave no frills to anything, just eating and having a beer.

The Change Initiative

The Change Initiative is Dubai’s first sustainable store. I was tasked with coming up with it’s launch
campaign. The concept was clear, if you’re going to be sustainable then so are we. We set about putting together a communications
campaign that would use little or no waste.
This is the first of a large 360 campaign that will come live in the next few months. For this execution we noticed that Dubai
is full of giant unused billboards, so we decided to clean one with our message, Not a single sheet of paper was harmed while making
this ad…*

* I may have written something in a layout pad about
this once, so one sheet of paper was harmed, sorry.

Cadbury – Top Deck

This was a campaign I did for Cadbury. The whole thing was about surprise, Arabs typically don’t like white chocolate, I fucking love it! But this isn’t white chocolate, its milk chocolate with a “Milky Mound”… ya. Anyway, it was really surprising that they loved the taste of the two together so much. I sold a tonne of ideas to do with surprise, loads of cuckoo clocks, marching bands and alien spaceships. They spent all their money on POS, broke my heart. At least it was nice looking. This is what I did.

Flake – Dipped

This is a the visual for a campaign I did for Flake Dipped Arabia. The thinking was that underneath their berkas, arabic woman love to look amazing and  take great care in their appearance.

I wanted to turn Flake dipped into a fashion accessory for these girls and encourage them to be vain and love themselves. The line was initially ‘Completely wrapped up in itself’ but for some bizzarre reason, that’s not what went out on it. Some asshole changed it along the way…

I wanted to activate it in womans clothes stores, do fashion shows, design comps but as usual, it didn’t fucking happen.

I did the follow up campaign too, Dip into your Dreams. Where you could dip into a digital and physical wishing well to possibly win your dream.

I also sold in a social cloaking App where girls in the Middle East could talk about and look at anything using an avatar while filtering all of their social streams into one too.

I haven’t a clue why that didn’t happen.

Gillette Gold

First of all, I’m not happy with this campaign, I think it’s 5% of what it was intended to be. I decided to include it because I think the original idea was a good one but due to a million stupid fuck ups (I assure you, not from creative) it turned out like this. 1. On Ice!!! 2. The newscaster has a Mohawk!!! 3. You don’t see the bad guys face!!! and 4. It’s ON FUCKING ICE!!!

The Idea was that the world’s most amazing razor has been created, the Gillette ProGlide Fusion. To commemorate this event, Gillette decided to cast a special run of 60 razors in 24k Gold! So, I decided to do a 2 phase campaign. Phase 1, holy shit this is the coolest razor in the world, let’s show it off! Then when the razors have been elevated to an almost alchemic status, BOOM, they get stolen and the crowd gets held hostage at a huge gala event, opening up Phase 2. This begins the challenge to find one of these razors which have been taken by a gang of gold hungry, Russian Mafia type thugs. The challenge was intended to be an online/real world hunt ending with a small group of winners who then become the Gillette Golden Circle and avail of tonnes of cool elitist stuff. That’s not how it turned out at all sadly but the idea was good and was sold in. This was the TV ad that ran and was made for probably the smallest budget any TV ad was ever made with…
